Police arrest teenage mother who dumped 1-week-old baby In Calabar

Days following a one-week-old infant was dropped at a deny site in Calabar, men of the Cross Rivers Police Command have captured a young mother over the dismal episode.

That the dead body of an infant kid was purportedly discovered relinquished among loads of reject in Calabar, the capital of Cross Rivers State.

As per the report, the adolescent was captured on Wednesday 18 march 2020 morning, following a report purportedly made by her mom.

Responding on the improvement, the Police Public Relations in the state, Irene Ugbo affirmed the relinquishment of the infant yet would not talk on the capture.

In any case, occupants of the Nigeria Immigration Service base camp, Calabar, who said they saw the capture affirmed the improvement.

One of the observers, Mrs Regina Akpan told columnists that the suspect was seen at the waste container at about 3 am when she was thought to have surrendered the child kid.

“It was the speculate’s mom that cautioned the police about her whereabouts. The mother said she had endeavoured to perpetrate such wrongdoing with her first child however she didn’t on the grounds that she (her mom) mediated at that point and advised her,” Akpan said.
