The Likari Ventures in collaboration with Agro Mall and Young Ranchers Nigeria Limited has donated five million nairas to the Gombe State Government, as part of its contribution to fighting the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.
Presenting a cheque of Three Million Naira, Tetmosol Medicated Soap and Zinom hand sanitizer worth two million nairas to the chairman Gombe State Coronavirus Taskforce Committee, Prof Muhammad Idris in Gombe yesterday the Managing Director of Likari Venture and Emir of Akko, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku, said the donation was part of the effort of the companies to support the government and people of the state in curtailing the spread of (COVID-19).
He said that the state government has demonstrated its commitment towards preventing the spread of coronavirus in the state adding that it was necessary to make the donation to complement government effort in fighting the disease.
“As an indigene of the State and at this time, we want to offer our help to the people and government to have better control and fight against coronavirus (COVID-19).
“From my company and our partners, we are offering as Tetmosol Medicated Soap and Zinom hand sanitizer worth two million nairas and apart from that, we are donating three million nairas to the government when the committee visited my palace last week.
Also speaking the Chairman of the Committee, Prof Muhammad Idris, commended the Likari Venture and two other companies for their assistance which he described as timely considering the impact of the disease.
He urged all spirited individuals and corporate organizations to channelled all donations to the state Taskforce on COVID-19
He expressed confidence that with efforts being put in place by governments at various levels would help in curtailing the spread of the disease in Gombe state and the country in general.
