From Sa’adatu MAINA, Damaturu
A young man called Ba’ari Bacha has been arrested and detained by the Nigeria Police in Damaturu for cutting off the hand of his wife, named Halima Bulama, for disobedience.
A source from the Yobe State Poilce Command hinted that the incident happened after Halima refused to respect orders not to attend a ceremony without the husband’s consent.
Her action was reported to have provoked Ba’ari which led to heated argument between the couple which later prompted the husband to use cutlass to chop off the hand of Halima.
The State Police Command has advised the public not to panic as the Police authorities are at the top of the situation.
Dungus Abdulkarim, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident.
“The victim is currently receiving treatment in the hospital and as soon as possible, the suspect will be charged to court – after investigations”, he said.
Sad news. This guy should be convictes soonest please to serve as a deterant to others.
I hope Neptune will keep us abreast of tje prosecution until justice is done. I believe if there is no follow ip on the story, it will die the Nigerian death.
