A man suspected to have stolen a sheep, arrested by a vigilante member in Potiskum local government of Yobe state, has snatched the vigilante’s double barrel gun and shot him to death.
The incident occurred on Monday when the suspect was pulling a pull cart carrying the sheep and was arrested by a vigilante personnel.
The vigilante asked the suspect to call someone to testify that the sheep was not a stolen one, which led to an argument between them.
When Sarkin Doya, the person who was supposed to testify for the suspect arrived, the suspect had already snatched the double barreled gun and shot the victim in the chest at close range which led to his instant death.
Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Abdulkarim Dungus, confirmed the occurrence of the incident but said details would be communicated later.
