Coronavirus not death sentence – Emir of Fika

The Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa has said that living with Coronavirus (COVID-19) is not a death sentence rather a disease that can be healed if followed logically.

“A lot of people have recovered and reunited with their families, we must show love and support to all victims including suspected case and families of the death”.

The monarch stated this while briefing Journalists at his palace in Potiskum town on Wednesday.

According to the monarch, COVID-19 is a curable disease that requires medical experts advise be followed. “Covid19 is real, we have to abide by the medical advice given by the health workers and Government in order to curtail the spread of the disease if these preventive measures are followed we would soon end the pandemic. A proper frequent wash of hands with soap or sanitizer, proper hygiene, limit interactions, social distancing, use of face mask and report any suspected case to the nearest health facility”.

He assured that the traditional institutions will continue to pray for improved health situation across the state and country. “We wish to assure you that this time will definitely pass, we will get over Coronavirus (COVID-19) sooner or later however we must make sacrifices to overcome and defeat this virus”.
