President Muhammadu Buhari names Hamman Bukar Buni and 42 other career Ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.

The President in a letter dated May 6, 2020 conveying the list of the 42 ambassadorial nominees stated that in accordance with section 171 (2) (1c) and subsection 4 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I have the honour to forward for confirmation to the Senate the under listed 42 names of nominees for career ambassadors-designate.

The Yobe State Ambassador nominee, Hamman Bukar Buni, (a.k.a Babagana Hamman) is an administrator and diplomat spanning over 30 years of working experience in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FMFA).

Hamman Bukar Buni, a native of Buni Gari, Gujba Local Government, Yobe State was born on 21st September, 1968. He holds BA Mass Communication from the University of Maiduguri (1991). Grade II Certificate, Teachers College, Waka Biu, (1986). He has attended several national and international professional training’s including Foreign Service Academy, Lagos Nigeria. Computer school in Budapest, Hungary, human rights training certificate, Lisbon, Portugal, diplomatic negotiation certificate, Diplomatic Institute Cairo, and certificate on peace building and conflict resolution, Kofi Anan Training Center, Accra, Ghana.

He was the Director office of the Minister of State Foreign Affairs in Abuja currently Charge D,Affairs, and Head of Mission Embassy of Nigeria Vienna, Austria. He has also previously served in State House Protocols and Nigerian Embassies in Budapest (Hungary), Luanda (Angola), Geneva (Switzerland), Accra (Ghana), and Rabat (Morocco).

Owing to his hard-work, dedication to duty and proven tract record of service, President Buhari found him worthy for nomination as Ambassador to represent Nigeria as a Career Ambassador.
