The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) regrets the inability of its hosts, Almak Media and Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC), to hold the timely and well-publicised zoom lecture, “Hajj and Umrah at a Period of Pandemic: Options for Nigerian Muslims”. The lecture was earlier scheduled for today, 17 May 2020 by 11: am.

The hosts have tendered their apology to the general public explaining technical hitches as responsible for the failure.

Nevertheless, (NAHCON) wishes to commend their efforts in organising the dialogue that would have been a veritable platform for rubbing minds in a period of physical distancing.

The Commission appreciates the honour offered to its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan to serve as speaker during the all-important lecture.

NAHCON is equally pleased and appreciates the interest shown by the general public in the lecture, particularly the numerous calls received from different parts of Nigeria and indeed all over the world asking for an update on the lecture. We assure the general public that the Commission will keep it abreast with developments in Hajj and Umrah and allied matters.

Fatima Sanda Usara, Head, Public Affairs NAHCON.
