Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Mohammed as the new Emir of Kaura-Namoda.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to Governor Matawalle on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Zailani Baffa, yesterday.
He said “The appointment of the new Emir followed the recommendation from the Kaura-Namoda Traditional Council as enshrined in the selection procedure”.
Sanusi Mohammed succeeded the late Emir, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed Asha, who passed away three days ago following a brief illness.
Until his appointment, the 40-year-old Sanusi Mohammed was a serving Major in the Nigerian Army.
While praying, once again for the repose of the deceased Emir, Matawalle wished the new Emir a successful reign.
