Ndubuisi, internet lover, defrauds German lady of €10,000

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Monday, said they have arrested one Mr Chigozi Ndubuisi Kizzito, aged 29 for allegedly defrauding a German National, Ms Oyeleke Patricia Magdalena, the sum of €10,000.

NSCDC, in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC Okadigbo Edwin, on behalf of the state commandant, disclosed that Kizzito, who hails from Arondizuogu in Ideato LGA of Imo state, perpetrated the act via an online dating site, lesarion.com.

According to Edwin, the arrest was initiated following a complaint letter submitted on 29 March 2020, by  Barrister Jideofor Chinwuba Esq on behalf of his client (the victim), Ms Oyeleke.

“Preliminary investigations, however, reveal that the suspect allegedly met the Victim in August 2019 on a dating site lesarion.com where a supposed relationship was consumed and from November 2019 till March 2020 defrauded the victim of 10,000 Euros.

“Suspect has equally made a voluntary confessional statement to the NSCDC. Meanwhile, exhibits recovered from the suspect include transaction details of monies transferred to him from the victim, a copy of a purported letter allegedly written to the German Embassy showing protesting his Visa Denial by the Embassy.

The case is under investigation after which, the suspect would be handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) for further investigation and prosecution,” he added.
