The Yobe State Police Command has warned the general public to desist from joining a nationwide protest organised to take place on 20 June 2020, by Coalition of Northern Youth.
The warning was contained in a statement signed by ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, the State Police Public Relations Officer and made available to newsmen on Friday in Damaturu.
Abdulkarim said “Information at the disposal of Yobe State Police Command indicates that the Coalition of Northern Youth will stage a protest due to hold on 20 June 2020 in all the Northern States of the Country.
“In this regard, this is to inform the general public that the protest is illegal and will not be permitted to take place in Yobe state.”, he warned.
Abdulkarim, therefore, advised the peace-loving people of the state to desist from any gathering meant for the protest and any other protest which is not officially permitted by the authority as defiance will face the wrath of the law.
