The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) while doing their regular checks at the Lokoja-Abaji expressway, intercepted suspect carrying 5 pump action shotgun and 10 packs of life cartridges with 25 rounds each fully concealed in a bail of clothes being conveyed from Onitsha in Anambra state to the Federal Capital Territory as the destination.
Chukwudi Nna, who was the transporter carrying the goods was arrested at the Abaji check-point where he told NDLEA operatives that he was only paid to way-bill the consignment to a receiver in the F.C.T.
Samuel Nwagalagu who is the alleged gun runner expecting to receive the rifles in Gwagwalada was also caught.
Commander of the NDLEA in the FCT, Hamisu Lawal, handed over the suspects to the representatives of the F.C.T police command as protocol demands for further investigations.
Commander Hamisu Lawal reassured that the crackdown will be sustained to ensure that all forms of crimes are grounded to a halt in the F.C.T.
