Boko Haram attacks Gov Zulum after visit to IDP camp (Video)

Suspected Boko Haram member yesterday, opened fire on Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum’s and his convoy as he rode through the town of Baga.

Governor Zulum was gathered on his way to some internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in the northern part of Borno when the incident occurred.

“The governor went to Kukawa, and on his way to Baga, his convoy was attacked. Alhamdulilah, The Governor, has arrived monguno this night in good health, but unfortunately, 2 civilian joint task force and a police officer were injured in the ambus.,” a reliable source told Neptune prime

Although it is not clear if jihadists Boko Haram were behind the attack, Mohammed Mai Bukar, one of the aides of the governor, assured residents that he was secure.

He wrote on Facebook:

“To Our Concerned citizens H.E Prof.Zulum and His Entourage are all fine and there was (were) no casualties. Thanks!”

This is the second known attack on Zulum’s convoy after last year’s Boko Haram’s attack on his convoy in Kukawa.
