An Islamic cleric who holds the position of “Chief Imam of Taraba state police command”, Mallam Mustapha Nuhu, has reportedly been abducted by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
The gun-wielding criminals who executed the crime were allegedly 10 in number. Chief Imam, Nuhu’s residence was invaded by the gunmen at midnight and they took him along with them in the process.

Many suggest that the abduction of Nuhu, an officer of the Nigerian police force in Taraba may be connected to his preaching during the Jummat service on Friday.
During his sermon, Nuhu spoke against the increased crime rate in Taraba State while laying emphasis on kidnapping. The kidnappers are however yet to contact his family to make any demands.
Various parts of Taraba have had to endure rampant kidnappings in recent times according to its residents and this must have prompted the cleric to speak out against the crime.
DSP David Misal, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Taraba, confirmed Nuhu was indeed abducted but stated that he was yet to have details of the incident.
