Philanthropist Zainab again! Doles out N40 million cash, rams, foodstuffs

As Muslim faithful celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah, Honourable Member House of Representatives for Bama, Ngala and Kala Balge Federal Constituency, Dr Zainab Gimba (APC) has doled out cash, rams, clothing materials and foodstuffs worth 40 million naira to the poor in her constituency.

This, she said, is to enable them to fulfill their Sallah obligations of animal sacrifice and partake in festivities.

Dr Zainab, was represented by elder statesmen, Alhaji Zannah Goni and other stakeholders during the distribution process.

The lawmaker who said that what she did has nothing to do with politics, revealed that over the years, through her humanitarian foundation (HUZAF) and other aspects, widows, orphans, IDPs and the less privileged have been receiving similar gestures so as to celebrate during the Sallah festivities.

While wishing the entire Muslim faithful successful Sallah celebration, Honourable Zainab Gimba called for prayers and peaceful coexistence for the development of her constituency, Borno state and Nigeria at large.

Speaking to our reporter, some beneficiaries said her magnanimity was God sent because many of had no means to buy rams because their prices have hit the roof while money was hard to come by.

Malam Mustapha Aji said he had already told his family to brace for a Sallah without ram, for the first time since he married 27 years ago. “But see Allah’s help when we least expect it”, he said with tears in his eyes.

Hajja Moram Kura, a widow whose was husband was killed by Boko Haram and their house razed, while crying with happiness said if other members will “emulate Hajja Zainab, nobody will cry in Nigeria”.
