A former national party Secretary, a sitting Governor and Caretaker National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress can’t afford to play with an integral part of a true Democracy. All eyes are now on him to see how the LGA elections would take place in his home base (the state of Yobe).
From internal party politics through which candidates would emerge, to how other parties (opposition) would be given a level playing ground are key areas of interest to observers within and outside Nigeria because, as the Caretaker National Chairman of the ruling party, every political step he takes, means a lot for him and for the APC.
Back home, there are lots of expectations and permutations going on about who gets wherein the yet to be confirmed LGA elections. Some of the interest groups are:
1. The clique of former LGA chairmen
2. The young people cluster
3. The undisclosed
Whatever the case may be, the choice of candidates for this LGA elections would further clarify the power play and influence which at the end would determine where genuine loyalty and service to humanity rest.
