Hajara Kabeer Abdulfatah hails from Katsina State and is a first-class graduate of B.Eng Petroleum & Gas Engineering currently in transition into the Sustainable Energy space. Her interests lie at the intersection of energy, environmental sustainability and low carbon future.
She has excelled herself in her field of study, wrote two technical papers, one of which emerged as the best student technical paper in the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and she represented the whole of Africa in Dallas, Texas alongside other regions.
Her interests lie at the intersection of energy, environmental sustainability and low carbon future. She is a girl in STEM activist who is passionate about encouraging, inspiring and coaching young girls to pursue and develop an interest in STEM careers.
Her advocacy on ‘GiveGirlsRoleModels’, a movement aimed at normalizing female role models in STEM, earned her the first-ever Girl-in-STEM leadership award in recognition for her outstanding work in STEM advocacy by SPE Nigeria, Women Development Program (WDP).
More than anything, she is driven by an insatiable desire to encourage and inspire young girls and women to break through the ceiling of possibility and make a positive and lasting impact in the world of STEM, STEAM & STREAM.
She devotes much of her time volunteering for Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and applies herself productively as an active member of Student Energy (SE), Energy Institute (EI), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the prestigious Global Thinkers Forum (GTF).
She was also the presidents of SPE Nile chapter and applied herself productively in several activities such as Internship programs in Shell Nigeria, DPR and oriental energy.
She also won the first-ever Girl in STEM award for SPE’s Women development program, shes a STEM ambassador for Coderina and also the CEO of ‘The Pastry Chef Nigeria.NJ’.
