Police parade kidnappers of village head in Yobe


The Police Command in Yobe State today paraded three suspects in connection of the kidnapped of the village head of Mashio in Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The village head, Mai Isa Buba Mashio who was kidnapped early August 2020 and rescued the following day after spending a night with the kidnappers in the bush.

Parading the suspects today at the Police CID office in Damaturu, the police public relation officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkareem informed that the police have hauled in three suspects but the mastermind of the kidnap, one Alhaji Bukar is still on the run.

According to the PPRO, Mohammed Bello, one of the suspect was trailed and arrested in Kano State, Bello Amedu, who is an informant to the gang was arrested in Mashio village, while Jibril Haruna was arrested in Damaturu after collecting his share of the ransom from Alhaji Bukar.

Dungus added that much logistic support from all security agencies with intelligence gathering resulted in the getting the suspects.

He disclosed that investigation is still ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects where they would be charged to court. Amed Bello in an interview confessed to the crime but regretted in action while the other two suspects denied their involvement in the crime.
