Commissioner Yobe State Ministry of Higher Education, Professor Muhammad Munkaila has been conferred with the traditional title of ‘Mallamawan Fika’ by the Fika Emirate Council in Potiskum town.
In an appointment letter signed by the Galadima of Fika, Air Commodore Ibrahim Alkali (Rtd) on behalf of the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa and made available to newsmen in Potiskum on Sunday indicated that the title was conferred to the Commissioner following his support and contributions to the development of the education sector.
During the thanksgiving visit to the Monarch at his palace, The emir urged the Commissioner to continue with the support and cooperation to the emirate.
The Emir said that Fika Emirate Council Potiskum is an all-inclusive and cosmopolitan Emirate which honoured people of different backgrounds.
Responding, the education Commissioner, Professor Muhammad Munkaila commended the emirate and promised to continue to maintain a good relationship for the benefit of the people.
“I am highly impressed with this title given to me as one of the traditional title holders of the emirate.
In a related development, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs (Dr) Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa (CON) has also approved the appointment of Alhaji Idriss Hassan Adamu (Idi Moda) as Wakilin Magani of Fika while Alhaji Abdullahi Garba (Alele) has been promoted from Wakilin Magani to Gado da Masu of Fika respectively.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, Special Assistant Media to the Emir said the appointment and promotion take immediate effect.
