Police rescue abducted 13-year-old boy in Yobe

The divisional police headquarters, Fika led by the DPO Ibrahim Hassan Baba has rescued a 13-year-old boy Umar Yau from his kidnappers.

The teenage boy who was abducted after an unspecified number of gunmen attacked the residence of his father Yau Alhaji Adamu native of Duja Village in Fika LGA.

The hoodlums took him and his son, Umar Yau to an unknown destination but later released the father with a letter written in Hausa language demanding for Three Million Naira (N3, 000,000.00) as a ransom to spare his life and secure the release of his son.

The Police, however, after a fierce counter operation dislodged the hoodlums, forcing the kidnappers to flee from their hideout, securing the release of the victim with four suspects were arrested in connection with the incident for interrogation and subsequent prosecution.

Curbing other criminal activities in the state, three suspects in connection with the kidnap of Alhaji Isa Mai Buba, the Lawan of Mashio has been apprehended, Mohd Bello, Alhaji Bello Ahmadu and Jibrin Haruna indigenes of Mashio, Damaturu metropolis and Kano State are presently undergoing interrogation at a police facility in Damaturu.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Yobe State Command CP Y.S Abubakar (psc) has also urged good-spirited members of the public to support security operatives in the state in the fight against crime and criminalities.
