Yobe Government said it would be improving Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by establishing Geographical and Land Information System (GIS/LIS) in the state.
Alhaji Muhammed Lamin, the Commissioner, Ministry of Land and Minerals Development disclosed this on Wednesday at the tender opening occasion of the project in Damaturu.
He said the state had been losing a lot of revenue which supposed to be accruing from its land system.
“But with the establishment of GIS/LIS, we believe the revenue of the state will be enhanced which is why we call for this bidding.”, he said.
He added that the new initiative would also improve the state’s land administrative system apart from boosting its revenue generation.
Lamin noted that any organisation that eventually emerged the winner at the end of the tender would be the contractors to establish the system for the state.
