Wizkid, Buhari’s social media aid, Lauretta Onochie exchange words on Twitter

Popular award-winning Nigerian singer, Ayo Balogun A.K.A Wizkid, and Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie, have engaged in a heated argument on Twitter.

Onochie had referred to Wizkid as dumb, ignorant and exhibiting a childish attitude in a tweet for tackling the President over SARS brutalities and addressing him as an “old man”.

Wizkid, however, reacted saying Onochie should be ashamed of herself for making such comments, that age has nothing to do with demanding for good governance in Nigeria.

The singer had taken to his Twitter page to vent his annoyance at President Buhari, describing him as an “old man” who should be paying attention to issues in the country rather than in the United States.

This came after Buhari wished the US President, Donald Trump a “quick recovery from COVID-19” amid the security tension in Nigeria.

He was speaking on the back of renewed protests against the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) after a video showing a man allegedly gunned down in Delta by operatives of the police unit went viral.

Reacting on Tuesday night, Onochie said: “It’s not disrespectful to call anyone old. Its the way and manner Ayo Balogun addressed the President that leaves a sour taste in the mouth. He exhibited crass ignorance, insensitivity and childishness. But hey, he’s a #DumbkidNotWhizKid When he grows up, he might learn respect”.

Wizkid replied saying: “lol a 77-year-old man is not young ma. You are a woman and a mother and kids are getting killed by police/sars and this is all you have to say? Shame on you!!! shame on you!! I am a father and age has nothing to do with demanding for better governance in my country!!”.
