Edo State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon Francis Okiye, representing Esan North-East constituency 2 has been impeached over alleged high-handedness.
House Majority Leader, Henry Okhurobo, moved the motion for his impeachment and nine of the 10 Assembly members at the plenary signed his impeachment letter.
Marcus Onobun, representing Esan West Constituency was immediately sworn in as the new Speaker.
