The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has postponed the release of results of the 2020 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) to next week.

The Council made this known on Wednesday via its Twitter verified handle @waecnigeria.

According to the Council, the results were scheduled to be released today, but due to the violence and pockets of arson which erupted last week aftermath the #EndSARS protests in the country and had some of its offices affected thereby distorting operations nationwide, it had to be postponed.

Also, giving reasons for the postponement, the Council added that some states in the country are currently observing a 24-hour curfew.

“WASSCE 2020 Results Release Date: Dear candidates, the Council had planned to release the results today in fulfilment of our Project 45 but due to the curfew imposed last week, it had to be postponed till next week.

“The exact date will be made known soon,” the tweet stated.e
