Mrs Antonia Amos was said to have sold her grandson for the sum of N1.3 million because the father has not paid the bride price to the mother of the child.
The two weeks old grandson has since been rescued by the Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Police.
Amos, who confessed to selling her grandson, said she did that because the child’s father is yet to pay the bride price for his wife.
It was gathered that Amos was arrested after Mr Christian Duru the baby’s father reported the case to the police.
Mr Joseph Mukan, a Commissioner of Police, confirming the incident said Amos lead the police detectives to Ukanafun Local Government Area in Akwa-Ibom State, where Pauline Umoh another suspect was arrested.
Amos after interrogation led police officers to Mgbidi, Imo State where the buyer, Juliana Obianwa was arrested and the baby recovered.
