Story from Kenneth AFOR, Lagos
The social media tech giant, Twitter, has created an emoji with the hashtag, ‘EndSARS’, and a fist coloured with the green-white-green depicting the colour of the Nigerian flag in solidarity of the protest.
The emoji pops after a Twitter user might have typed the #EndSARS word on the compose space.
This is coming after users in the United States, Europe and Africa experienced downtime on Thursday finding it difficult to send tweets or refreshing their timelines.
The tech firm is taking the solidarity campaign protest to another level after a Nigerian man threatened to sue the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jack Dorsey for supporting the protest.
The protest which has entered its 10th day has drawn global attention as football stars, entertainers as well as organisations tweeting with the #EndSARS.
