The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has presented the sum of N140,034,404,440 as the 2021 budget estimates.

Presenting the budget before the state house of assembly on Monday, Governor Fintiri said the budget which is the second he presented during his tenure will consolidate the socio-economic developments he has instituted in the state.

The budget which was tagged budget of stabilization was to be fully implemented in the year 2021 in the overall interest of the people of Adamawa State he said.

While speaking on the performance of the 2020 budget, the governor said the budget has been revised from N180 billion to N140 billion as a result of the incursion of the COVID-19 pandemic into the state.

He noted that from January to September 2020, the state has received a total of N87,314,384987 which it uses for both personnel cost and capital projects.

Fintiri noted that in other to release funds for capital development, his government will reduce the cost of running the government by 40 per cent.

Speaking on security, he said he will collaborate with stakeholders and traditional rulers to ensure that Adamawa citizens enjoy abundant peace.

He disclosed that the employment of youths to reduce the problem of unemployment was going to be his priority in 2021 physical year.

Speaking further, the Speaker, called on the governor to improve the leaving standard of the LG Primary School Teachers in the state by way of payment of outstanding areas, allowances, and outstanding promotion among others.

Responding, in a press interview shortly after the presentation, Fintiri assured that he will collaborate with the local government chairmen to ensure that all primary school teachers demands are made.
