Unknown assailants have reportedly killed a former manager with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Chief Gregory Duruiheakor.
Duruiheakor, who hailed from Atta in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, was shot at his home in New Owerri area of Owerri.
It was gathered that the deceased was murdered when his killers broke into his home on Monday night.
One of his kinsmen confirmed the incident. “We are still shocked by Chief Duruiheakor’s death. Information we got is that they shot him in the chest and he died immediately. It is sad and we have called on the police to investigate it.”
Police Public Relations Officer in Imo State, Mr Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident, saying the man died before he could get to the hospital.
