The Gwallaga community in Bauchi local government area of Bauchi state which is the birth place of the immediate past chief of air staff Air Vice Marshall Sadiq Abubakar on Saturday organized special prayers for the ex military top officer.
The prayers which was attended by islamic scholars, residents of the community held at an islamic school in the area called ‘Madrasatul Irshadul Aulad’.
In an interview with journalists after the session, the imam of Kobi Friday Mosque Malam Muhammadu Aminu who led the prayers session said it was meant to seek Allah’s blessings for the former chief of air staff in his future endeavours.
According to him, the community is proud of its son in view of his contributions to peace building in the nation.
The imam added that since he emerged as the chief of air staff, Mr Sadiq contributed immensely to the fight against insurgency saying the community has nothing to reward him with as he is financially bouyant hence, they organized the prayers.
Also responding, the head of the community Alhaji Dandada Ahmadu explained that Sadiq brought tremendous developments to the community and Bauchi state before his retirement.
Buttressing his points, Dandada said many indigenes of the state were recruited into the Nigerian Air force noting that the ex chief of air staff also established airforce base, airforce reference hospital and school in the state.
