Also, this victory for United will be the first silverware for the Dutch tactician, Erik ten Hag who was appointed last July just before the start of the 2022/23 season of the English Premier League (EPL).

Sunday’s victory for the Reds was clearly seen in the 33rd minute after a decisive header from Casemiro to give the club the lead.

United’s resurrected talisman, Marcus Rashford’s deflected goal sealed the victory for Ten Hag leaving Newcastle dumbfounded despite their agility on the pitch.

United’s last trophy was in 2017 when they won Europa League under Jose Mourinho after beating Ajax 2-0 with goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
