The Shehu Dikwa, Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Ibn Shehu Masta II El-Kanemi, is dead.
The death was announced by the Secretary to State Government, Alhaji Usman Jidda Shuwa in Biu, shortly after presentation of Staff of Office to the Emir of Biu, Alhaji Mai Mustapha Umar Mustapha by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on Saturday.
The monarch was flown to Abuja on Thursday where he died Friday evening.
Top member of the Emirates confirmed that his funeral prayers was held at the Shehu Palace in Maiduguri on Saturday.
This is the third in the series of high profile deaths in the state within short intervals, after those of Shehu of Bama and Emir of Biu in 2020.
