The medical students of Imo State University (IMSU) have protested on Wednesday the prolonged disagreement between their lecturers and the Imo State Government, which is making them spend 11 years for a programme originally meant to last for six years.

The students who took to the streets chanting songs of sorrow and mourning were captured in a video as they marched to the office of the Chief Medical Director.

They are calling on the Imo state government to pay their lecturers and consultants so that academic and clinical activities can move smoothly, thereby enabling them to conclude their studies without further undue extension.

The medical students vowed to take their protest to the office of the Vice-Chancellor as well as that of Governor Hope Uzodinma in Owerri.
