Nasarawa hospitals board holds AGM, tasks members on saving culture

The Nasarawa State Hospitals Management Board (NSHMB) has urged members of the public and staffs of the HMB cooperative, thrift and loan society to imbibe the act of saving as it is a long established fact to escape poverty.

According to a press statement issued by Bilkisu Adamu, the board’s information officer, the charge given by the CMD, Dr Egba Edego, at the annual general meeting held at the board’s headquarters in Lafia, was to ensure more members develop a saving culture. The CMD, therefore, urged officials to keep up the good work of ensuring that members’ money is kept safe and the scheme properly managed.

The cooperative society established in November 2006 has saved its members from poverty and also gives room for members to access loans.

Also, President Comrade Umaru James in his speech appreciated members for their support, cooperation by donating facemasks to hospitals in the fight against the pandemic.

The AGM done in strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols had several directors and deputies join in virtually.
