Gov. Sani Bello sympathises with Lapai Emirate over death of Jibrin Salihu, father of Education Commissioner

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has sympathised with Lapai Emirate over the death of Jibrin Salihu, one of its kingmakers and father to the state’s Commissioner of Education.

In a press release by Mary Noel-Berje, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, he said that the death of the Kingmaker has created a vacuum that would be hard to fill.

He commiserated with Alhaji Umaru Bago III the Emir of Lapai, Hajiya Hanatu Jibrin Salihu the commissioner of Education and her entire family members as well as Lapai Emirate.

“Death is inevitable, therefore I urge you to take solace in Allah and accept his demise as a divine call”.

He added that the deceased has paid his due in the service to the state, nation and humanity.

The Governor described him as a pious, religious and detribalized person who believed in peace and unity among the people.

He prayed Allah to forgive him his shortcomings and reward him with Aljannatu Firdausi.

The late Alhaji Salihu was a senator in the first republic, he died at the age of 85 after a brief illness in Zaria, Kaduna State and is survived by 16 children.

He was the Tsaiwan Lapai, a traditional title he held until his death.
