Story from Haruna USMAN, Kebbi
A student of biochemistry department of kebbi state university of science and technology Alieru Sharifdeen Sale Kanya, has been gruesomely murdered by mob action.
Investigation revealed that, late Sale went to main Alieru town where he visited a POS point to withdraw the sum of three thousand five hundred naira, using his phone transfered the said amount to the POS agent.
Unfortunately Sale was debited but the agent not credited, however the agent gave late Sale the said amount, upon his return to the campus the money reversed to late Sale account, as a mark of honesty sale went back to return the reversed money but the POS agent started shouting thief some said he was a yahoo boy, and within seconds a large chunk of uninformed men began beating him till he died.
The ugly incident happened near Alieru onions market, student body of the University who confirmed it said lots of people have been arrested in connection with the murder of student.
In a press statement made available to journalists by the National president of NUKESS Kabiru Samaila, urged the student to remain calm as the law will take it’s course.
As at time of filling this report, the kebbi state police image maker DSP Nafiu Abubakar didn’t answer calls, our source further confirmed to us the university has been shut down indefinitely to forstale reprisals.
