310 kidnapped Zamfara schoolgirls released

The remaining students among the 317 kidnapped schoolgirls of Government Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara have been freed.

The Nation reports that the palace of the Emir of Anka confirmed the students are on onward transportation to Gusau, the state’s capital.

Recall that it was earlier reported that seven out of the 317 schoolgirls abducted by bandits had escaped from their captors while trekking in the forest on Friday.

The escaped girls reportedly claimed that they manoeuvred their way back home after running out of the grips of the bandits.

Meanwhile, officials of the Zamfara State Government are yet to confirm the release of the schoolgirls who were kidnapped in their school on Friday morning.
