Story from Najib SANI, Bauchi

A Kaduna based Information Communication Technology (ICT) expert Najeeb Ibrahim Kafur has launched what he described as a better version of Jumia to enable buyers and sellers transact businesses online.

The platform which he called Najeebmall is an online marketplace that enables small and medium scale traders to create a virtual store and lists their products for sale without paying any sales commission.

According to a press release he issued to our correspondent Friday, the ICT expert said unlike other available e-commerce platforms like Jumia and Konga that charge sellers up to 10% commission on each sale made, Najeebmall only charges a monthly subscription fee for its services to the sellers.

Najeeb further explained that with the current trend in the e-commerce industry where big marketplace operators take a large cut out of sellers’ profit as commission and service charges, small scale traders are left with no option than to sell on their WhatsApp status. This according to Najeeb has its limitations.

“When you sell on WhatsApp status, you are limiting your market to only your family and friends who have your mobile number, and you need to be constantly re-uploading your products every 24 hours. This is very frustrating.

“With Najeebmall, sellers just need to visit www.najeebmall.com on any internet-connected device and click on the apply button to signup, create their online shop and add their products. It’s that simple.” He explained.
