Bandits kidnap 25, rob many in Kutunku, Niger

In what has become an almost daily occurrence, bandits struck again on Monday, kidnapping 25 persons in Kutunku, Wushishi district of Niger state while residents were asleep.

The raid and adduction of the villagers were done in two different locations, where they moved from house to house, stealing from their victims before taking 24 people along with them and one resident from a neighbouring village in Adidi.

The political administrator in charge of the area, Ismail Modibbo Kagara disclosed this in a press release.

Mr Kagara also mentioned that the gunmen left their motorcycles outside the village, and walked to their destination.

The police were not immediately available to comment on the incidents.
