The Emir of Birnin-Gwari, Alhaji Zubairu Jibril Mai Gwari, has narrated how he was able to escape the attack from bandits on his convoy.
The Emir who was at the presentation of the 2020 Kaduna State security report last week said he was not part of the entourage because he took a relief from the Nigerian Air Force that took him to Kaduna in the evening.

The Emir who was the target of the attacked noted that his car was riddled with bullets but his orderly and the driver managed to escape unhurt in the attack
“In the last minute I decided to ask for a relief from the Nigerian Air Force, they brought me to Kaduna that was how God made it.
I was not in the car but it was clear the bandits targeted my car but Allah protected my driver and orderly, only my car got some bruises but we thank God.
Birnin-Gwari, a gateway to the southern part of the country had over the years been bedevilled by banditry, kidnapping and armed robbery.
