Every country of the world has so many recorded stories in the past as their history, just as the United State of American has there’s.
Last year, 2020, Americans voted their new president, Joe Bidden who was inaugurated into the administrative office on the 20th of January 2021.
The inauguration attracted so many countries’ attention all over the world as the most powerful nation took its next leader.
However, the new president was sworn in with his old family Bible (since 1893). He had also used the same Bible during his swearing-in as a U. S. senator. It is five inches thick with a Celtic cross on the cover.
This is unlike what most succeeded president did. Though some had also used their family Bible as well, he’s not the first to do such.
His two immediate predecessors, Donald Trump and Barack Obama used the Lincoln Bible, which is stored at the Library of Congress at the time of their inaugural ceremony. Obama was the first president after Lincoln to use it, in both of his inaugurations.
While In 2017, Donald Trump also used the Lincoln Bible which was placed in a protective box, including his family’s Bible that was given to him by his mother in 1955, two days before his ninth birthday, according to Liz Cantrell.
Besides, the most used presidential Bible in America’s history during inauguration has always been the ”Washington’s Inaugural Bible”, which has been used by five succeeded presidents in America which include; Warren G. Harding, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter, and George H. W. Bush.
George W. Bush used it at his first tenure’s inaugural ceremony and also hoped to use it again at his second inauguration in 2001, but it was raining and no one wanted to risk damaging such a precious artefact.
