Four bandits, who are presumed to be the leaders of one of the criminal groups behind the abduction of the Kankara boys in Noth-Western Nigeria, has surrendered to authorities in exchange for an amnesty agreement in Katsina State.
Among the arms surrendered were, 24 AK 47 assault rifles, two General Purpose Machine Guns, 109 GMPG ammunition, 95 7.62MM live ammunition as well as 45 cattle.
Katsina State for a period now has been troubled by violence from bandits, kidnapping for ransom and theft of livestock as well as killings.
It is still unknown if the government would give them amnesty, even though some states have rejected and some have been receptive to the idea.
