Unknown gunmen attacked the Wereng Community in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State on Thursday, killing six, and injuring three.
Timothy Dantong, lawmaker representing Riyom LGA in the state House of Assembly, confirmed this on Friday.
Timothy stated they got a tip on the attack but didn’t take action “I just woke up this Friday morning to hear of the killing of six of my people by gunmen who attacked the Wereng community last night”.
Eight people were killed recently in a mining site at Kuru Community in the same Local Government Area.
