Six Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors led by the PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, today paid a sympathy visit to the people and Governor of Zamfara State over the recent inferno that burnt down to ashes properties worth millions of Naira.

The PDP Governors’ Forum while expressing concern on the damages caused by the inferno donated One hundred million Naira to the victims.

The forum expressed worry over politicizing the insecurity situation in the State and some parts of the country called on the Federal Government to put an end to it and Nigeria as a whole.

Also speaking, the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, said: “I can’t understand a party which declared Zamfara a no-fly zone is coming to woo the governor.

“Do not lose sleep in Zamfara, we shall overcome, the governor met the problem of insecurity and it is not as if it started when he became governor. So, nobody can come and use insecurity to intimidate the governor or any other governor.”

Describing the APC’s N50 million donation as a Greek gift, Wike urged Matawalle not to receive the opposition again.

It would be recalled that the APC governors also led by the Chairman of the APC Governor’s Forum and governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, in the company of the National Chairman of the party were in the state for a similar visit.

Receiving the forum, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, the Zamfara State Governor, thanked them for the visit and the donation, adding that the gesture will ease the sufferings of the victims.

Matawalle disclaimed the rumour of his possible defection from the party, saying that he belongs to the People’s Democratic Party and will continue to do his best for its success.
