Gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, invaded the Ajaawa community in Ogo Oluwa local government area of Oyo state and kidnapped nine persons including a nursing mother and hotelier over the weekend.

According to reports gathered, the gunmen invaded the hotel at about 10 pm on Saturday and kidnapped the owner, Honourable Olukunle Oyedokun, who was said to have arrived in the town in preparation for his father’s burial on Friday, and eight others.
However, two persons said to be within the hotel premises when the gunmen came, escaped being kidnapped.
According to sources, the eight other persons kidnapped along with the hotelier were identified as his wife, Busayo Oyedokun and the baby she is nursing; Oyedokun’s first child, Omoriyeba, and her six-year-old daughter, Adesewa; his brother’s wife, Juliana Oyedokun, and her 10-year-old son, John and another child belonging to Oyedokun, Oluwajuwonlo in addition to the guest.
The kidnappers were said to have arrived at the hotel which is said to be located behind CAC Primary School, Lagbedu road, Ajaawa at about 10 pm, shooting sporadically and went away with their captives into an unknown destination through the nearby bush.
It was reported that the kidnappers had on Sunday contacted the family of the hotelier, demanding N15 million as ransom, which was later reduced to the sum of N2.5 million, which the family is still looking for, in order to secure the freedom of the victims.
It was also reported that police operatives, Amotekun Corps, local hunters and vigilante group members are now combing the bush in search of the victims.
