Police arrest 3 armed robbers in Abuja

Police Command Operatives in Abuja on Sunday have arrested three suspects for armed robbery along Utako and Lugbe axis.

A press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (FPRO) for the command, ASP Mariam Yusuf, said they were arrested by Police operatives from the command’s anti-violent Crimes Unit and Anti-Car Theft Unit during routine patrols between Tuesday, 30 March and Thursday, 1 April 2021.

“The suspects confessed to terrorising Lugbe and Utako axis. Exhibits recovered are one locally made pistol, one silver-colored Honda Accord car snatched from their victim at gunpoint, and one Honda motorcycle.”

The suspects are named as: Rabiu Mohammed, 33, Justin Tondo, 32, and Matthew John, 30.

The spokesperson said all the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

She said the Command enjoined residents to remain law-abiding, even as the command reaffirmed its unflinching commitment towards the protection of lives and property.
