Vice President Osinbajo, Tinubu, Patience Jonathan, others grace book launch of Aisha Buhari (Pictures)

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Dr Patience Jonathan and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on Thursday graced the book launch of the First Lady, Aisha Buhari at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The book titled “Aisha Buhari Being Different” is authored by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Women Affairs and Administration, Hajo Sani.

The book’s public presentation and the launch were put together by the Office of the First Lady in collaboration with Women and National development, a gender-focused nonprofit organisation.

The book launch was chaired by Dr Tinubu, while billionaire entrepreneur, Mrs Folorunso Alakija was the Special Guest of Honour.

The sum of N155 million was realised at the public presentation.

The APC National Leader bought copies of the book worth N20 million while Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu bought copies for N30 million and N25 million respectively.

Mrs Folorunso Alakija and Chief Kessington Adebutu bought copies for N10 million each while representatives of Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi and Captain Idahosa Okunbo donated N20 million each.

Mrs Bola Shagaya and the representatives of Arthur Eze donated N10 million each.

The chairman Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, and Deputy Senate President, Mr Ovie Omo-Agege pledged an undisclosed amount of money for copies of the book.

Other eminent Nigerians present at the launch were Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha represented by the Head of the Service, Folashade Esan; Service Chiefs; private sector leaders; Leadership of the National Assembly.

Others include the Governor of Osun State, Adeboyega Oyetola, and wife; the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello; Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.

Royal fathers present include the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; the Sultan of Sokoto, Mohammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, and members of the diplomatic corps.

During the book review, Civil Service Chief, Esan said that the book gives an insight into the mind workings, life, and passions of the First Lady.

“As an advocate tool, the book equally provides practical suggestions to overcome institutional challenges in a difficult era,” she said.

Dr Bola Tinubu described the First Lady as a voice of conscience, as he extolled her virtues of sincerity and courage among her invaluable contributions.

Tinubu further chronicled the activities of the First Lady during the 2015 elections which according to him was instrumental to the President’s eventual success at the polls.
