Feranmi Fasunle Omowunmi, a 200 level female student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo has reportedly committed suicide.
She died on Thursday morning at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, while she was about to be referred to Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

According to reports, Omowunmi, a student of Political Science allegedly ingested a harmful liquid insecticide, Sniper while in her room on Wednesday.
She was immediately rushed to the institution’s health centre when her friends had discovered it but was later transferred to a Specialist Hospital in lkare before finally giving up at the FMC in the presence of her parents.
Reasons for her action is yet unknown but sources said it might be connected to a failed relationship, but her friends said she was never in any relationship known to them since she gained admission to the university.
One of her lecturer who spoke with Vanguard described the incident as unfortunate.
However, the institution’s Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Victor Akinpelumi who confirmed the incident said none of her friends was able to tell why she took her own life.
”l can confirm that the incident is true but the reason why she took that decision is still sketchy as none of her close friends and colleagues could state the reason for why she decided to die in such way,” said Akinpelumi.
