Buni marks 2nd Anniversary as Yobe Governor, holds prayer session for Nigeria’s unity

As part of activities marking two years in office, Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni, yesterday joined religious leaders, cleric and traditionalists in praying for Nigeria’s unity, peaceful coexistence and prosperity.

Governor Mai Mala Buni who attended the prayer session at the Damaturu Central Mosque and Islamic centre appreciated God for divine intervention concerning challenges facing the state and country.

Buni reminded the people of the sad and unfortunate days when people cannot attend congregational prayers without fear of possible bomb attacks.

He said, “We have every reason to appreciate God for giving us relative peace when people can now go to the market, mosque and attend other public gatherings freely.

“Here in the North East, we must thank God and appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari for the fight against insurgency which has resulted in the relative peace we enjoy across the state,” he said.

Buni urged the people not to relent in prayers “we must always pray for our nation and state for God to help us overcome the challenges of insecurity, economy and other challenges”.
