Honourable Ismai Danbaba, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing the Nasarawa Central State Constituency, has been kidnapped.
Danbaba was abducted while on his way to Jos, Plateau state, for an official occasion on Saturday evening.
Honourable Mohammed Omadefu, Chairman of the Nasarawa Assembly Committee on Information, confirmed the news to The Nation. According to him, the incident occurred in a forest in Kaduna state’s Sanga local government area.
He said that the kidnapped legislator had travelled through Andaha in Nasarawa State’s Akwanga local government area on his way to the woodland region in Kaduna’s Sanga local government area when he was attacked and taken away.
The kidnappers have made contact with the Assembly, but have not made any demands, according to Omadefu, who represents Keana state constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
