Bauchi State teachers under the aegis of the ‘League of professional teachers in Nigeria’ (LOPTIN) have urged the state Governor, Bala Mohammed, to confirm the acting permanent secretary in the state ministry of education, Malam Suleiman Adamu Madara, as substantive permanent secretary.
Spokesperson Bauchi chapter of the league, Shehu Hassan Jarawa made the call in a press release issued to journalists over the weekend.
According to him, Madara is an experienced teacher who rose from class room through the ranks in the ministry saying he is one of the most senior civil servants in the state.
Jarawa said every civil servant who reaches the apex of his career hopes to retire as a permanent secretary.
“The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Bauchi ministry of education, Malam Suleiman Adamu Madara, a career teacher with a long time teaching experience as a classroom teacher, with a good and enviable credentials, track records, experience, pedigree deserves to be rewarded by being confirmed as substantive permanent secretary.
“Madara has so many good-wills among the staff of the ministry, school teachers and of course, the students of the state.
“Will the good work of Madara be reciprocated by the way of confirming him as a full time permanent secretary by the Bauchi State governor?
“Or will the good work, sincerity, accountability and transparency of the yet to be confirmed permanent be in vain? The league said.
