Story from Kenneth AFOR, Lagos

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday, received the second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

His personal physician, Suhayb Sanusi Rafindadi, administered the vaccine.

Buhari alongside vice-president Yemi Osinbajo had received their first dose of the vaccine in March this year.

Nigeria took delivery of the first batch of 3.94 million Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines on March 2, 2021, through the COVAX initiative.

The first shot of the vaccine was given to Cyprian Nyong, a medical doctor at the National Hospital, Abuja, with Faisal Shuaib, Chief Executive officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), administered the dosage.

Last week, the Federal Government asked those who had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to proceed for a second jab.
